Kāpiti Coast District Council operations service delivery review kicks off

Over the coming weeks, the Kāpiti Coast District Council will carry out a review of the services delivered through the Council Operations Depot.  This includes delivery of services like stormwater maintenance, water reticulation, turf maintenance and property maintenance. The review forms part of a series of Service Delivery Reviews the Council has been carrying out over the past two years on all the activities delivered under the Council’s Long Term Plan. Under the Local Government Act, all councils are legislatively required to do these reviews every six years.

Chief Executive Wayne Maxwell says this is about making sure we deliver services as efficiently and effectively as possible for the Kāpiti Coast community.

“The reviews aim to make sure that we’re getting the best value for our community. Part of the review includes looking at how other Councils deliver similar services, and how we compare. It will also look to identify opportunities where we can work closer with our neighbouring Councils to share resources and find efficiencies.”

“We’ve engaged an external, independent consultant from Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC) to help us carry out this review. PWC carry out these reviews across the country for local government, so we’ll be taking their advice on where we can make improvements to the services we deliver for our community.”

“Once we have the results of this review, they’ll be shared with elected members.”
