Over the Fence Cuppa annual events are small get-togethers in Kāpiti neighbourhoods, celebrating New Zealand’s national Neighbour’s Day.
Council programme design and delivery Tania Parata manager says that building better relationships in our streets can transform neighbourhoods into healthy, safe, vibrant and inclusive communities, and that the annual Neighbour’s Day events can help springboard people together.
“Over the Fence Cuppa events can take place virtually anywhere in a neighbourhood – in people’s homes, on the berm, in the backyard, or at the local park. It could be a morning tea, a barbeque, a games evening, anything. We invite the community to open their minds and their homes for this event to see where the ideas can lead to.”
Kāpiti residents who sign up to host an Over the Fence Cuppa will receive a support pack from Council, including resources, information, and some goodies to get their event going on the right foot.
Registrations for Over the Fence Cuppas close 16 March, 5pm, and can be made online at: http://www.kapiticoast.govt.nz/Our-District/Our-Community/Neighbours-Day/
